NHS wanted a multi-storey car park for the hospital in Abuja to accommodate a large number of cars from their staff and visitors.
The client wanted good circulation and easy flow of cars in and out of the car park while maximizing the undulating terrain of the site. We were required to creatively link the carparks of the old and new hospital buildings
Our team worked on all requirements of the client, creating a 6-level car park system, with 2 car park levels below ground level and the hospital complex sitting on the car park system.
Every level of the carpark is connected to 2 circular ramps sitting side by side – on the south of the building and 1 circular ramp on the north of the building, this was introduced to accommodate the number of cars flowing in and out of the building per time.
A courtyard within the carpark, strategically located above the lake running across the carpark below, around the courtyard, is a sit-out with park benches and planters for staff and visitors to enjoy the scenery of the lake and the cool breezes from the lake
